I left the I Teach K conference in Las Vegas with mushy brain. There was so much incredible information and even more amazing ideas. It was teacher overload. But in a good way. What teacher doesn't love ideas and information?! I am a huge fan of the ideas that I can use in my classroom the very next day. Seriously...I want to leave a session with at least 1 thing I can implement immediately.
I had the opporunity to attend a word work session by DeeDee Wills from Mrs. Wills Kindergarten and she shared a super awesome idea for cookie sheets and letters! It was one of those things that I could do very easily with little or no cost. BAM!
Materials: cookie sheets, magnetic letters and Sharpies.
Cookie sheets are $1 at the Dollar Tree and if you're like me, you have a TON of magnetic letters floating around.
Simply write the letters on the cookie sheet with a Sharpie.
Students match the magnetic letters to the letters on the cookie sheet! BAM!
This could also work for numbers!
